The government of Pakistan has announced that May 25 will be observed as a Youm-e-Takreem Shuhada-e-Pakistan (Pakistan Martyrs’ Honor Day) and declared it a public holiday as well.
The day has been designated to honor and remember the sacrifices made by the martyrs for the nation.
All public and private offices including educational institutions will remain closed across the country.
It is an occasion for the nation to reflect upon the selfless acts of the brave individuals who laid down their lives for the betterment and security of Pakistan.
In this regard, a main ceremony will also be held at Pakistan Army General Headquarters (GHQ). A number of ceremonies of Quran recitation and prayers for fallen heroes will be arranged across the country.
The police department has also organized ceremonies in Islamabad, the provincial capitals, and Azad Kashmir would also honor their fallen heroes.
